For those of you who pledged on Kickstarter, you'll have likely already heard the news! Lilith Ltd. (the team behind Allison Road) sent out an update across social media, stating that the Kickstarter would be canceled.
This is not the end for Allison Road!
Usually when a Kickstarter campaign comes to a close, it means that it's the end of the road for the project - typically it just wasn't receiving enough funding, or the team ran into legal issues. Neither of which is the case for Allison Road. Instead, there's nothing but good news!
Lilith Ltd. is now joining Team17's game label. Team17 is most commonly known for developing the Worms series, and publishing recent indie titles, such as The Escapists, and Beyond Eyes. Team17 has been in the industry for 25 years, and will allow Lilith to have the proper support and creative control that they need to make Allison Road the best it could be!
What about the Kickstarter tiers?
For those of you that wanted something of yours in the game (picture of yourself, a voice recording, your original song), Lilith has promised to look for ways outside of Kickstarter to allow you to be involved in the game at a later date.
As a lover of collectibles myself, I do hope that we will still see ways to get our boxed copies of the game, along with art books and other neat things to showcase on our shelves! Nothing is known yet, but I'm sure we'll hear one way or another when it gets closer to time of the release!
A public "thank you" from Lilith Ltd.
"As a newly founded studio, we’ve been completely overwhelmed by your encouragement and huge interest in Allison Road and we’d love to thank each and every one of you for all of the amazing support you have given us during our Kickstarter campaign and beyond. Really incredibly appreciated."
Lilith will be a little quiet for a while as they begin their journey with Team17. Until then, be sure to like Allison Road's Facebook page, and follow them on Twitter and Indie DB to keep up to date with their progress!
I'll be reporting in on Allison Road whenever there's big news! If you'd like to keep up-to-date with all of my articles, you can follow me on Twitter and Facebook! If you enjoy my indie articles and would like to see more, you can support me on Patreon!
