Who doesn't know Indiana Jones? He's the World's greatest and most famous explorer, always seeking adventure and ancient, lost treasure. The last we saw of Indy was in 2008. The popular franchise first came to screens in 1981. Since then, we have seen him a total of 4 times, each outing being directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg himself.

During a recent interview with Yahoo while promoting his new movie Bridge of Spies, Spielberg was joking about how both Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks have done four movies with him. He had this to say:

Now, I’ll probably do an Indy 5 with Harrison, [so] it’ll be five for Harrison, four for Tom…I’ve got to make another one with Tom, that’ll be five for Tom, five for Harrison.

And I think I’m going to leapfrog that way for the rest of my career. With Daniel Day-Lewis in everything else!

Indiana Jones 5!?

Though there is no proper confirmation regarding this yet, rumours about this movie have been floating around for quite a while now. Back in May, Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm (the studio behind Indiana Jones and Star Wars, and now under the wing of Disney) confirmed that another Indiana Jones movie could be under development.

“[Another Indiana Jones movie] will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”

All the evidence is certainly leading up to the conclusion that Disney might reboot/make a sequel to the franchise. According to a report by Deadline, Dinsey has already begun looking for a replacement for Harrison Ford, which could be none other than......

Chris Pratt!

...the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around...

It's a rumour... but its something to hope for! We all saw him in action in Guardians of the Galaxy after all. Not to mention seeing his best explorer skills in Jurassic World. If that doesn't scream Indiana Jones to you, I don't know what does. He would be a perfect replacement for Harrison Ford.
