It seems that things are really heating up on the Dancing with the Stars stage as various dancing partners battle it out to be crowned the kings and queens of the ballroom!
For one, former Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega hit the dance floor on Monday, landing the first perfect score of the season! And she wasn't the only one pulling out all the stops at this stage of the competition -- wonder girl Bindi Irwin's cha cha routine blew everyone away, with judges eagerly raining down their praises and uttering sentiments such as:
"You took yourself to another level… a whole new level of confidence. Regardless of who you dance with, you are Bindi, and you are a ray of sunshine.”
Check the performance out for yourselves:
Competition aside however, it's clear that both young women have come a very long way from their humble beginnings. And in lieu of their current success, it's very easy to forget what they used to be known for back in the day.
So, why not take a trip down memory lane and remind ourselves of what these two leading ladies used to be like before they donned their sparkly outfits and dancing shoes.
Rising to fame as the daughter of legendary nature conservationist Steve Irwin, little Bindi had a rather unconventional upbringing frolicking with crocs in the midst of her native Australia.
And although she remains very dedicated to her father's efforts to protect the natural world, today Bindi has clearly also made a name for herself outside of The Crocodile Hunter's sphere of influence as a phenomenal contestant of Dancing With the Stars. All in all, her transformation from the bush to the ballroom has been incredible!
Similarly, Alexa PenaVega also made a name for herself as a young star. Alongside various minor roles, she really caught our attention when she stepped into the shoes of sassy Carmen in the Spy Kids franchise. Remind yourself of her role in the first installment of the spy-crazed franchise:
And since her participation in the series, Alexa seems to have gone from strength to strength, appearing in a myriad of TV and movie projects over the years. While her IMDB page looks like a never-ending list of notable accomplishments, most recently, the actress can be seen in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, in series Nashville, Do You Believe Me? and The Murder Pact. Oh, and dancing her socks off in Dancing With the Stars, of course!
Both ladies have come such a long way, and I can't wait to find out what's in store in the future for them both! Good luck!
