Anyone with doubts as to Gal Gadot's suitability for the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice may not know about her the rigorous physical training in her background.
The star told Marie Claire about her incredible fitness regime that makes Crossfit look like Aqua-aerobics for over-70s:
"To become a fight-training instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces, I did a four-month boot camp where I had to go for seven-mile runs every morning at 6:30AM."
What's more is that Gal -- who signed up to the Israeli Army at 18 -- says that her rigorous work did not leave her begging for mercy, telling FASHION mag:
"But the army wasn't that difficult for me. The military gave me good training for Hollywood."
You can see that her action-packed background paid off in her action roles, particularly in the Fast & Furious series.
Oh, and that badass motorbike Gisele rides in Fast Five? Yeah, Gal Gadot owns and rides motorbikes in real life; that's not acting. That's being a no-fucks-given biker for real.
Military service in the Israeli Defense Forces is mandatory for men and women over 18, but can be avoided -- as other Israeli celebs such as Bar Refaeli have done. Gadot commented:
"I don't regret not enlisting, because it paid off big time. That's just the way it is: celebrities have other needs. I hope my case has influenced the army."
Gal Gadot continues to be both modest and deeply passionate about her role as Wonder Woman:
"I prefer to portray the stronger, more independent, inspiring woman than the heartbroken, sad one. Because in real life, women do it all.
[Wonder Woman] is the ultimate symbol of strength. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd grow up to be in a movie playing someone who influenced as many women as she has."
She's certainly committed to embodying the role rather than just acting in a costume for the duration. Director Dan Trachtenberg, currently working on a movie adaptation of Y: The Last Man tweeted about Gal Gadot's commitment:
