Former NBA star Lamar Odom is fighting for his life after being airlifted to an L.A. hospital for emergency treatment. The 35-year-old was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday afternoon.

According to TMZ, Odom had arrived at the Love Ranch South alone on Saturday and had spent his weekend partying with the girls before tragedy struck. Dennis Hof, the owner of the ranch, told the gossip outlet that Odom was found unconscious in the VIP suite by a distressed worker who immediately screamed for the manager to call 911. While the manager was performing basic first aid checks on Lamar, it's reported that there was a "mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth."

Odom was transported to Pahrump hospital, where doctors intubated him, a procedure that suggests that he could not breathe on his own. Due to the sport star's worsening condition, it was arranged for him to be airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital, but the Nye County Sheriff has reported Odom's 6'10" frame was too big for the chopper. Instead, he was rushed by ambulance to a Las Vegas hospital.

Odom's condition is currently described as critical and he is still in a coma while fighting heart failure and serious problems with both his kidneys and lungs. His ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, is currently by his bed side.

It is currently unclear what caused Lamar's health to fail so seriously, but an insider at the ranch claims he was taking a substance he referred to as herbal viagra.

Mr. Odom, who was married to reality television star Khloé Kardashian, has long struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. He was involved in a drunk-driving case in 2013 and was suspended from the NBA for violating its anti-drug policy in 2000.

Messages of support have been flooding Twitter for the former NBA player:
