While most people are hotly anticipating the Star Wars land on its way to Disney parks, the behind-the-scenes team that makes the magic of the movies into a livable reality is quietly rolling out another exciting venture.
Just like the denizens of a land far, far away, Marvel superheroes are finding a new home in the happiest place on Earth. Just down the road from Mickey's Toon Town and a hop, skip, and a jump away from Splash Mountain, this new Tomorrowland destination is called Super Hero HQ and promises to be the official West Coast home base of some of our favorite superheroes.
And guess who will be debuting at the brand spankin' new character greeting location?
Say hello to your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!
Spidey will be the headliner at the Super Hero HQ opening this fall. He'll be ready with that quintessential jokey demeanor for snapping photos, signing autographs, or just showing off some nimble poses.
Super Hero HQ will also bring out the hero in you
In addition to meeting Spidey—which, in my book, is reason enough to make the trip—Super Hero HQ offers some awesome attractions that immerse you in the enhanced world of your favorite heroes.
It includes the Treasures of Asgard, where a tour across the Bifrost will lead you right to Thor. Or, you could check out the Hall of Armor and discover Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries, where you can try on don Iron Man suit in a virtual experience.
But this means another hero is saying goodbye
Since Super Hero HQ will cycle through different heroes, Spidey's arrival means the departure of Captain America, who's been doing meet and greets in the Tomorrow Landing area. If you're a committed Cap fan and still haven't gotten your chance to pledge your allegiance, he'll be there until November 11.
You can make the adventure to Super Hero HQ starting on November 16, when it will fully functional in the Tomorrowland Expo Center. Just try to keep any villainous tendencies to a bare minimum.
