On November 24th, Bloodborne's first DLC expansion, The Old Hunters, will arrive for the PS4. Three days later those who have yet to purchase the game can pick up the Game of the Year edition with the DLC intact. At the moment, I'm resisting the strongest of urges not to buy the GOTY edition. I've played Bloodborne through to the end with three different characters, but even the box art on the new version of the game makes me want to buy it all over again...it's dangerous.
For me, Bloodborne has surpassed the accomplishments of The Witcher 3, [Batman: Arkham Knight](tag:2683936), and Kojima's masterpiece, [Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain](tag:2683985) in 2015. We'll have to see if Fallout 4 can topple it from its "Game of the Year' podium. But are people more excited for the release date of The Old Hunters DLC expansion than From Software's upcoming Dark Souls 3?
The Release Date of Dark Souls 3 vs That Of Bloodborne: The Old Hunters!
Dark Souls 3 has already made me ashamed of my actions! From Software have created one of the most captivating video game franchises in recent memory - I feel compelled to play every single installment. Bloodborne was a beautiful take on the foundations of the Souls series. It took the basics of combat, exploration, and difficulty, and transferred them to a gothic landscape rife with blood.
It's one of the most addictive games I've ever played and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into its DLC expansion. But that's not to say that Dark Souls 3 wasn't enjoyable! I had half an hour with its gameplay at Gamescom earlier this year and what they've managed to achieve with the game is spellbinding. The changes to combat are intuitive, fresh, fun, and somehow still rooted in the series' great past.
\[T]/ But even though Dark Souls 3 is something I'll be picking up on its release date, all I can think about is Bloodborne: The Old Hunters. Its trailer has undoubtedly made countless fans excited for these new areas. We've seen glimpses of new enemies, new weapons, and some crazily terrifying bosses. I'm not one who normally jumps at the opportunity to pick up some DLC, but Bloodborne is a different story altogether.
