Room may be one of the saddest movies you'll ever see, but a little doom and gloom didn't stop Brie Larson from bonding with her nine-year-old co-star Jacob Tremblay.
The Oscar-buzzy actress told Yahoo! Movies that there was one thing in particular that helped the Brie and Jacob fall into their mother and son roles, and that was a tiny little movie franchise from a galaxy far, far away.
Yep, Star Wars continues to bring generations together
Brie and Jacob dominate Room with the collective acting power of 35 Meryl Streeps, and that genuine bond was forged through a real relationship. Jacob's onscreen Ma broke the ice by showing off some Star Wars knowledge, and it was all easy from there.
We went to a pizza parlor and he had these little Star Wars Lego figurines, and I asked him some questions about Star Wars. And once he knew that I could talk shop regarding Star Wars, then it was easy.
Then it's true what they say: Star Wars is still the great uniter. And the franchise will only continue amassing fans when the next installment [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158) comes out at the end of this year.
And, if you're on the fence about seeing Room, you should absolutely go see it when it arrives in nationwide theaters on November 6. You just might want to schedule a little Star Wars playtime afterward to get your mind off its heartbreaking premise.
