Finally Fox and Marvel have agreed a deal to share the X-Men franchise. Now the deal is for Marvel and Fox to distribute two shows on the small screen. One is Legion which focuses on Charles Xaviers son and the other is The Hellfire Club.

Now I personally love the Hellfire Club. I loved the way that they are the oldest mutant organisation that has manipulated and controlled the most powerful humans to do their bidding.

For those who are not familiar with the Hellfire Club they are an elitist mutant group who are set on world domination. They are a worldwide organisation that has bases all over the world such as New York, San Francisco, Brazil, Hong Kong, Paris, Rome, Sydney, Cape Town etc. Although their name is not a secret (Hellfire Club is well known) their alterior motive is. The Hellfire Club want world domination. They envisaged a world of mutants and wealthy humans only. Although deep down Sebastian Shaw (leader) wants mutants only.

They are longed enemies of the X-Men. Although they are centuries old the most notable group and timeline of the Hellfire Club is the New York base in the 1960's onwards. Most notable members of the Hellfire Club are Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Jason Wyndgrade, Harry Leland and Donald Pierce.

Each member is very powerful, especially Sebastian Shaw and has defeated the X-Men multiple times. Now thanks to the deal with Marvel we will see this group on the small screen. However, we have to credit Mathew Vaughn for really introducing the Hellfire Club on the big screen in X-Men First Class. Kevin Bacon was excellent as Sebastian Shaw, as was January Jones as Emma Frost.

What we know so far is that the series will be set in the 1960's. It will focus on a very young Special Agent who discovers that a power hungry woman with special abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires known as the Hellfire Club. Although this is set in the same timeline as First Class I do not expect Bacon or Jones to reprise their roles.

Jonathan Davis – Fox’s head honcho for creative affairs – said this about Hellfire:

“Hellfire is a unique opportunity to be able to go deeper with some of these extraordinary characters, but to also dramatize new characters and give TV viewers a chance to experience this expanded world in an explosive way that everyone will be talking about. The action at the center of Hellfire will be dynamic and will satisfy the rabid fans, but that said, newcomers will surely be addicted too!”

Combining talent from both studios, Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Evan Katz, Manny Coto, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will all act as executive producers. Patrick McKay and JD Payne - who worked on the screenplay for Star Trek Beyond - will write the pilot.

Hellfire’s home network will be Fox. A pilot episode is currently in development.
