We've all played some games that give us amazing freedom to do and go wherever we like. Here are my favorites.

1. Assassins Creed: Brotherhood

First we have have ' [Assassin's Creed](tag:437814) Brotherhood'. This story follows Ezio Auditore, an assassin on a mission to take down someone named Cesare Borgia and to retrieve what is known as "the apple". During this time you have access to the open world sand box of Rome and I must say it's pretty awesome. From jumping building to building to chasing down muggers, this game is truly epic. take a look at the map.

2. Batman: Arkham City

Next we have Arkham City. This game follows the events of Arkham Asylum and I must say it did not disappoint. In this game we follow Batman on his journey to take down Hugo Strange as he threatens to unleash something called Protocol Ten. During this time you get to glide as Batman through the streets of Arkham City. From beating up random thugs, to discovering secret passages, this game truly amazes when it comes to open world. Take a look. It's bigger than it looks, trust me.

3. Red Dead Redemption

Now we have Red Dead Redemption. This game is unique and fun simply because it's set between 1911-1914 and takes place in the wild, wild west. No cares, no buildings, just you, a horse, and the open country. Out on a quest for revenge, we play as John Marston, someone quiet but friendly and deadly if necessary. Just to show you how serious I am about this game, take a look at the map.

Yep that's it. All of that and all you have is a horse. Truly worth the time. Not to mention they have an alternate version of the game set in a zombie apocalypse!

4. Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V (or GTA 5 for short) is one of the most famous open world games. In this game we actually get to go back and forth between the country side and the city. With both sides of the map being quite large, this is easily one of the best open world games ever made. Here is a preview of what I mean.

Big right? Not to mention the online mode. In online mode you get to explore this epic map with friends and even chase down a few people too. Bottom line is, this map makes the game.

5. Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls V

And finally we have Skyrim. I can't even begin to tell you how big and awesome this game is. Probably one of the best and biggest maps in all of gaming. If you think I'm exaggerating, just take a look at the map below:

Huge right?! It would literally take you an hour to get to most places in this game, if you only walked of course. You can always use the teleport option (which is very helpful for obvious reasons). This map isn't only big but the landscape looks beautiful as well. Here are a few, gorgeous screenshots

Yes that's a dragon. Also, here is a look into one of the many caves throughout the game:

Looks amazing right?
