Just over a year ago, this post on Instagram set the internet rumor mill on fire. Everybody wanted to know: were Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne a couple?
Obviously, none of this matters, really -- who cares who you date, as long as you're happy? -- but it's cool that Selena Gomez has come out positively from the tabloid speculation, talking fondly of the lesbian rumors surrounding her and Cara Delevingne. Talking to Pride Source, the star said:
"Honestly, I loved it. I didn't mind it. Especially because they weren't talking about other people in my life for once, which was wonderful. Honestly, though, [Cara]'s incredible and very open, and she just makes me open. She's so fun and she's just extremely adventurous, and sometimes I just want that in my life, so I didn't mind it. I loved it."
What a great way to handle rumors; no rage, no denials, no getting weird -- Selena's just happy to be herself and let people think whatever they want. She continued by saying that she has questioned her sexuality in the past and has a 'long list' of girl crushes, including Suki Waterhouse:
"Oh, I think everybody does, no matter who they are. I do, yeah, of course. Absolutely. I think it's healthy to gain a perspective on who you are deep down, question yourself and challenge yourself; it's important to do that."
Whoever she's dating, Selena's certainly having a good time of it; and all because of her gay guy friends' excellent matchmaking skills:
"Part of the reason I probably went out on a few dates is because of them. They're just like, 'Go! Go!' I'm like, 'No!' They're all about it, for sure. Whoever I'm with or like or don't like, they're all about dissecting it and putting me with other people. "
That's what friends are for!
