Ever since the leaked pages of the October edition of Japanese CoroCoro magazine started circulating their way around the internet Pokémon fans have been eagerly awaiting the official release of the magazine in hopes that we'll finally get some news from Nintendo regarding the massively-anticipated and much speculated upon Pokemon Z.
It's been the popular theory for a while now that legendary Pokémon Zygarde is going to be the main focus of Pokémon Z and the leaked images seemed to confirm that to be the case, introducing new forms of the lesser Pokemon X and Y legendary depending on the percentage of power it has.
Cell: Single cells that make up Zygarde, they have no consciousness of their own and are found scattered throughout the world.
Core: A self-aware core, essentially this is Zygarde's brain.
10% Form: A dog-like form that the core takes when it gathers 10% of it's cellular structure from absorbing nearby cells.
50% Form: A serpent-like form that the core takes when it gathers 50% of it's cellular structure from absorbing nearby cells. This is the legendary encountered by the player in the Terminus Cave in Pokémon X and Y.
Complete (100%) Form: A more humanoid form, this is the perfect form of Zygarde that the core takes when it gathers 100% of it's cells.
When Zygarde is at 100% it's said to be stronger than Xerneas and Yveltal (the titular Pokémon from X and Y) put together, which is pretty neat.
The October edition of CoroCoro from which the leaked pages were taken has been released now, and disappointingly enough there's no new news regarding Pokémon Z or it's elusive release date from the Japanese manga magazine. Boo to that.
Rather the magazine revealed information relating to the Pokémon XY & Z anime instead, and the introduction of Pokémon of the Week to celebrate the new weekly anime starting October 29th, the serial codes for which fans can discover by watching the show itself.
The first Pokémon of the Week is reported to be Xerneas, followed up by Yveltal the following week then Zygarde the week after:
- October 29th: Xerneas. Level 100. Attacks: Geomancy, Moonblast, Aromatherapy and Focus Blast
- November 5th: Yveltal. Level 100. Attacks: Oblivion Wing, Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse and Foul Play
- November 12th: Zygarde. Level: 100. Attacks: Land's Wrath, Extreme Speed, Glare and Outrage
Pokémon Go & Pokken Tournament
Pokémon Go is the iOS and Android app that looks too good to be true, a game that sends you out into the real-world to capture virtual Pokémon and compete/battle with other users. Pokken Tournament, previously only available on arcades in Japan, is a fighting game developed by Tekken creators Bandai Namco, involving a litany of Pokémon brawling and beating on one another, fighter-style... Awesome.
