PAX, a gaming convention run in various locations in the US and Australia, is coming back to Australia for the third year running! It has attracted tens of thousands of people from across the globe to check out new titles, play and talk games with fellow enthusiasts, and cosplay as their favourite characters. With PAX Aus 2015 just around the corner, I'll give you a look into what to expect from the land down under!
From big and small developers to gaming hardware companies, it seems like just about everyone who's a part of the games industry is going to be there! Sony and Microsoft will be there to keep the console wars at bay, while Nintendo will be in the background making everyone smile and relive childhood memories. Corsair Gaming and Sennheiser will help gear you up for PC gaming, and Bethesda will be there for all your Fallout 4 needs (so I guess you'll know where I'll be)!
Australian Indie Showcase
Another great thing about PAX is that it allows indie developers to showcase their new games, and PAX Aus 2015 is no different! The Indie Pavilion is where all the indie developers call their home, and where fans are allowed to check out their latest titles. Some of the indie titles that we can expect to see include Agent A: A Puzzle In Disguise, Death Squared, and Hacknet. Are you a big fan of indie games? Well make sure you give all these titles, and more, a visit!
Now, what do you call a gaming convention without a little nerdy music on the side? If you answered, "Not PAX", you'd be correct! While PAX Aus 2015 may be lacking in the didgeridoo department, they sure make up for with their musical line up. With the awesome talent of Axis of Awesome, the world's 579th greatest rapper MC Frontalot, and the "program-launching" act of The Doubleclicks, you're sure to have an musical time at PAX Aus 2015!
Like other conventions around the world, PAX Aus 2015 features an awesome line up of different panels. These panels feature discussions on different games and their implications on modern society. Various gaming groups, from Penny Arcade to Good Game, also run Q&A sessions to talk about what they do. If you ever wanted to learn more about the gaming industry and the people in it, make sure you check out the PAX Aus 2015 schedule and attend a panel!
