Thor 3 will be hitting cinemas in 2017 and will introduce Thor’s clone: Ragnarok.

Who is Ragnarok?

Ragnarok is a cyborg supervillain that Tony Stark creates after Thor is presumed dead. He uses a strand of Thor’s hair and fuses it with his technology. Also known as Clor, Ragnarok turns out be evil when he brutally murders Goliath in the superhero Civil War. Ragnarok possesses all the abilities of Thor that include his strength and knowledge, high resistance to physical injury and superhuman reflexes. He also has a hammer like Mjolnir. Although it is not magical like Thor’s and can be lifted by others, it is made up of a strong adamantium-vibranium alloy, absorbs and discharges lightning and is commanded by Clor mentally.

The Thorbuster Armor

Now in the comics, Thor gave Tony a powerful Asgardian crystal to study and to use it for the benefit of the world. However, when things go awry, Stark uses it to create the Thorbuster Armor to fight Thor. The armor is invulnerable to any harm except Thor. It is even able to stop Mjolnir in mid-flight.

How it may be related to Thor 3?

Ragnarok will face-off against Thor in the upcoming movie and Tony might actually aid him in defeating the monster he created using the Thorbuster. Ragnarok has more or less the same powers as Thor so the Thorbuster can be used against him too. This way Stark can correct the mistake he made. Showing the armor this way would be a nice nod to the comics and a great twist at the same time.
