It has been officially confirmed that a brand new Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens trailer will air during Monday Night Football tonight. Having seen the previous two trailers numerous times, I have noticed a pattern of key points we have yet to see from this film's previews. So, I have concocted these three takeaways I feel that fans need to see in tonight's new trailer.

In an age where some trailers give too much plot away, I know it sounds weird to ask for more from a preview, but the two previous trailers have offered next to no backstory for this film. J.J. Abrams and company have done a fantastic job offering fan service with an emphasis on the return to practical effects as well as bringing back some of the original cast, but we have yet to see anything concerning the new direction of the Star Wars Universe. I am greatly intrigued with all of the mystery surrounding the film, but with all of the disappointment of the prequels looming, I feel that fans deserve a morsel to chew on until the film finally arrives this December.

Dialogue From the New Main Characters

As excited as I am to see John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Adam Driver on board for the new Star Wars film, I am little concerned that we have really yet to hear them speak in character. To this point, we have seen plenty of beautiful landscape shots, and close ups with John Boyega breathing heavy, or Daisy Ridley looking bewildered, but if these are going to be main characters for the new trilogy, then I think this new trailer needs to feature dialogue from at least one of these characters.

Synergy Between Our Heroes

Star Wars is iconic for many reasons: the music, characters, story, sets, props, costumes and so on. But one of my favorite aspects of the original trilogy is the chemistry between the main cast. Great performances were turned in across the board, but were elevated due to the chemistry between the actors. I believe this to be an important key to recapturing the magic of the original trilogy, and I think that this is an aspect that the new trailer needs to at least hint at.

If you are looking to watch the new 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens' trailer, tune in to ESPN tonight at 8 P.M. for Monday Night Football kickoff.
