Star Wars fans across the world and of all ages gearing up for the next installment of the franchise. Frankly, the next couple of months can't fly by quickly enough. With every new teaser and trailer we're starting to become all the more familiar with new characters, and applauding appearances of those we already love.

Although Star Wars: Episode VII appears to focus mainly on the lives of John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, and other new faces, The Force Awakens already ties in with the original trilogy nicely. Here's what the characters of the original trilogy look like in the newest Star Wars footage next to when we first met them:

Han Solo, Harrison Ford

When we first met Han, he was quick to call The Force a "hokey religion" with "ancient weapons." But these days, the weathered captain of the Millennium Falcon has opened his eyes and is working on enlightening the youth.

The first teaser trailer gave us our first looks at the return of Han Solo and Chewie, the latest release gave us a quick glimpse of Leia in the arms of Han. A serious feels moment.

I guess Wookiees age pretty well. I don't even see a hit of grey on Chewie's coat.

We've seen a lot of old and new droids in the released footage, but still no sign of C-3PO. I wonder if he's still traveling the galaxy with Master Luke.

Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill

Still no sign of Luke Skywalker's face in Episode VII footage, but we're thinking that's his hand on Artoo. But will Luke play an Obi-Wan type character to Finn and Rey, or has he perhaps joined the Dark Side? I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

[Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](tag:711158) will finally reach theaters starting December 18.
