A year ago, October 24, 2014, the world lost a very talented, sweet, beautiful performer. At 66, Marcia Strassman lost her battle with breast cancer a year ago, and we all miss her terribly. But, even so, she has left a little piece of herself with us, in her roles in beloved titles such as "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid", "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience", "Welcome Back, Kotter", and "M*A*S*H".

Ms. Strassman, a fellow New Jersian, tried to break into the music business in her early career. She released a few singles in the 60s, but sadly, they never really took off. Still, this author would certainly like to give them a listen!

She then went on to pursue acting, which was quite successful. She may be best known for her role as Julie Kotter by older viewers, and most likely as Diane Szalinski by younger viewers. As a superfan of the "Honey..." series, I absolutely love her portrayal of Diane. The movie wouldn't be complete without her! (Although she did not return for the direct-to-video "Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves" and Eve Gordon was recast as Diane... It still wasn't the same!)

So, here we are a year later, and we all miss our beloved Marcia Strassman!

Even Eric Idle had a word on the subject!

Rest in peace, Ms. Strassman. We love you.
