Usually when you suffer a bitter divorce with your significant other, you endeavor to stay away from them to avoid all emotional turmoil and unpleasantness. Not if you're Sean Penn, though!

If you delve right back into the depths of the late '80s, you'll remember the wonderful four years in which the actor was married to Madonna. They met on the set of her 'Material Girl' video.

The pair were together from 1985 to 1989 before they decided to go their separate ways.

Yet now, after over a quarter of a century of being apart, it seems that Madonna and Penn are seeing more and more of one another, with him often bizarrely showing his love by appearing at her concerts and performances in recent months.

Most recently, the 55-year-old actor appeared at her 'Rebel Heart' tour show in Vancouver, Canada. He was attending with a fellow Madonna supporter, none other than comedienne Amy Schumer.

And a few nights later, Madge herself commented on the fact that her ex-husband had been attending her shows, telling the crowd at the Barclays Center that he had even penned her a note after her performance. She said:

"I did a show at Madison Square Garden the other night if you heard about it. And my ex-husband was there! Could you imagine?"

And the best part is that she went on to share a rather cute anecdote about Penn:

"He had been at my show 30 years earlier when I was at Madison Square Garden, and he was very upset with me for wearing a costume that was too revealing. That's not a lie! Anyway, after the show, he wrote me a letter and said he finally appreciates my art. And that is what I have to say about marriage, okay!? Thirty f--king years later."

Interesting. Do you think a romantic reconciliation is in the cards?
