When it was announced that Baron Zemo would be playing the big bad in the upcoming Marvel movie, Captain America: Civil War, it got me (as well as every other Marvel fan) really excited. We couldn't wait to see how the Marvel Cinematic Universe would portray one of Captain America's greatest villains.
But one thing that had many fans worried, along with myself, is what changes Marvel would make to this iconic supervillain? Marvel is known for changing the heroes, or villains, up a bit. Not saying it is bad thing, but if they do it in the wrong way, it can make some people mad.
Baron Zemo's Loosing The Mask
In the comics, Baron Zemo wears a purple cloak around his head that protects and hides his body from the scars he received from Adhesive X. Every hero or villain has their signature piece, whether it's Cap's shield or Thor's hammer. The cloak was Baron Zemo's signature piece, but that is all about to change according to Daniel Bruhl:
"He does not wear the mask... You would be surprised, it's different that what you'd think. It's loosely connected to this character. But's that what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they're dealing with always reference to current events, so my character is from a different era that what you would think."
How Does This Effect His Character?
Whether you love the idea or hate it, the one thing we know for certain is that Baron Zemo is going to be playing a major role in Captain America: Civil War. He has already been confirmed to be the main villain by Elizabeth Olsen, and is rumored to make an appearance in Doctor Strange.
