Romero's rebranding isn't a full makeover of Back to the Future II. She kept the original concept of the film and adapted her redesign according to today's art style (the real 2015). Explaining her style & motivations for the reinterpretation, Romero stated:
I made sure to make it as reminiscent of the original one as possible while adding a bit of present-time flare to it...
