Now, when major movie trailers hit the internet, they have a tendency to make a pretty big splash. After all, they're usually our first -- or latest -- chance to catch a glimpse of a film we're over-enthusiastic about seeing, so the excitement they prompt isn't all that surprising.

That, though, is what regular movie trailers do. Sometimes, however, something out of the ordinary comes along. Something...Star Wars-shaped. And as it turns out, the release of a brand new Star Wars trailer -- especially when it's for the achingly awaited Episode VII: The Force Awakens -- pretty much just straight up takes over the internet for a news cycle or two.

Because, y'now, duh...

One of the most intriguing revelations that the most recent trailer's release prompted, however, is that it wasn't just us ardent fans that jumped aboard the over-excitement train -- it seems a fair few senior Hollywood types did too.

Take, for instance, the fact that...

Now, thankfully, the Twitter kerfuffle between Episode VIII's Rian Johnson and Warcraft's Duncan Jones (both ridiculously accomplished Indie sci-fi filmmakers in their own right) was delivered with tongues firmly in cheeks -- since, as it turned out, that actually made it even more entertaining to watch.

The whole thing kicked off when Jones, rocking the traditional online presence of a man who's pretty much finished making a major Hollywood blockbuster, posted this to Twitter:

To which Johnson, known for his cerebral quips, involving sci-fi indies, responded with:

At which point things started to get awesome...and super nerdy...
