Wow. Anybody who tuned in to watch the Philadelphia Eagles beat down on the New York Giants last night (October 19) was given a magical, beautiful present at halftime. It was a sneak peek at The Force Awakens, and man did it get me excited for this movie!!
I was sitting in my dorm room with a bunch of my buddies, watching the football game when the final whistle blew at the end of the second quarter. We stood up to stretch and were about to leave to go grab some pizza when we hear the music. Instantly, we were all in our seats. Eyes glued to the television, not one person spoke or moved for 2 minutes and 35 seconds, and even a good while afterwards. My heart was racing throughout the whole trailer, and I almost lost it at 1:57 when the blue lightsaber came out.
In a day an age where Hollywood reboots, recasts and makes sequels like crazy, we as fans are beginning to get sick. Not here. We don't need another Transformers or another Fantastic Four reboot, but this, this is EXACTLY what we want. What we crave. The little kid inside each and every one of us in that room, and all across the world, jumped for joy while we ourselves sat there unable to move, soaking in the glory of Star Wars. December cannot come fast enough.
