Last night, The Flash ended with a huge cliffhanger that, even if it was expected by everybody, still got all fans excited: the Earth-Two version of Harrison Wells traveled through the portal to our world.

This arrival is definitely game-changing for the show. In fact, the history between Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne and Team Flash didn't end really well, because...he died with Eddie in the process, trying to kill Barry and everyone else. Thus, seeing a man with the face of the person you trusted the most can be a bit disturbing.

So, who is this alternate version of Harrison Wells ?

Things with Harrison Wells are kinda complicated. He was actually a good guy, a genius scientist who got killed by the Reverse-Flash, who then took his place and turned him into a bad guy. That's pretty much what we know of the real Wells.

Now, knowing that the real Dr. Wells was in fact a good person, what can we say about his Earth-Two counterpart ?

Jesse L. Martin (Joe West) first talked about him, with some harsh words:

"He comes back and -- I almost said something awful -- he's even less cool than he was before. That's the only way I could put it. I was going to use a Cisco term and be like, 'He's a dick.'"

Then, Grant Gustin also gave his opinion about this Harrison Wells 2.0:

"He's less of a bad guy and more of a douche-bag,."

It seems that this new Harrison Wells will be a real pain in the ass, kind of show-off character. Actually, this idea of portraying this Earth-Two Dr. Wells like a "douche-bag" came from Tom Cavanagh himself:

"It wasn’t written that way, but that's how I decided to do it. It just seemed to me to be a massive opportunity to turn the tables. With Eobard as Harrison last year, there was a certain intelligence and charm and a mannered way to him -- a thoughtfulness. I think the expectation [was] that this same person coming From Earth-Two would be like that and my thought was, 'Why?'"

"If he's a much more brusque, and arrogant, and generates conflict, than I think all the better for the show, and all the better for me to play. Everything that Eobard did was justified. He had a plan and he completely believed in his plan, and the character that I'm playing his year is similarly committed."

It sounds like Harrison Wells is always source of problems for Team Flash even if he's not the Reverse-Flash. It is great to learn that Tom Cavanagh gave his own perception of the character this year. I'm confident it will only consolidate his performance (that was already great).

When talking about how Wells will have a hard time gaining everyone's trust, we learned that the person who will break the ice is none other than Barry:

"It's not Eobard Thawne, it's actually Harrison Wells. It's the actual guy that Barry always idolized and looked up to, but [he's] from a different world… Barry is wanting to trust him.

Thus, despite everything, Barry will try to get over the fact that the last time he trusted Harrison Wells he got people he cared about killed. I can't even imagine how Cisco will react to that, because the man literally killed him.

I look forward to see the different interactions Earth-Two Wells will have with Team Flash. And I'm sure as always, that this Harrison Wells is not less secretive than the last. Everybody got secrets, especially Dr. Wells.

The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
