Running away from hungry, malicious dinosaurs is about as hard as it gets. Replace your Nikes with a pair of heels, and you're automatically going to find yourself falling behind.
Controversy sparked when Bryce Dallas Howards' character Claire Dearing spent the entirety of Jurassic World in a pair of tasteful nude pumps. As it turns out, audiences found the dinosaurs much more realistic than a woman running around in heels.
But fear not, as Jurassic World 2 is finally giving Claire something more practical to help her dodge whatever scaly creature comes after the villainous Indominus Rex.
The way that Colin [Trevorrow] told me that the sequel was happening, when it got greenlit, and that I was going to be in it, he texted me #NoHeels2018. And I was like, ‘Yeah, boy!’
Howard explains in the following video that Claire worked in an office and enjoyed dressing well, and therefore it makes sense that she wears heels. She wouldn't have taken into account that the dinosaurs would go haywire and she would have a lot of fleeing to do.
She is still pleased to see people acknowledge the fact that it is really difficult to run in heels (let alone walk in them) and therefore she is looking forward to not having to wear them in the sequel.
Jurassic World 2 is scheduled to come out on June 22, 2018. While Colin Trevorrow will not be returning as director, he has set the story in the direction of having other companies growing their very own dinosaurs.
It just seems like people will never learn. Bringing the dinosaurs back to life hasn't worked out the first few times. It might be about time to give it a rest.
Both Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt are set to return for the sequel, and I cannot wait to see how their characters are involved with the newer companies.
Regardless, Claire's feet with thank her. There is absolutely nothing worse than sore and blistered feet.
