Despite its overall awesomeness, it's safe to say that Marty McFly's 1985 Hi-Lux truck didn't really get the love it deserved, especially when compared to Doc Brown's time-travelling swagmobile, and even Marty's hoverboard.
But, in order to properly hammer home the fact that this month saw reality finally catch up with Doc and Marty's time travelling antics, and BttF's future is now the past, Toyota have paid homage to one of cinema's most well loved vehicles by modernizing a classic for Back to the Future Day.
Say hello to the 2016 Toyota Tacoma BttF Concept:
With a wax job that'll make anything Biff has done look like it's been smeared with manure, the BttF concept Tacoma also comes with a whole host of modifications in order to recapture the thirst we all had after seeing it for the first time.
The mods include a vintage, custom paint job, off-road suspension (because where this thing will be going, it obviously won't require roads. Had to.), custom tubular bumpers for the front and the rear, a custom light bar with a shed load of KC HiLites, custom head and tail lights, custom D-45 fuel injection badges, and, no homage would be complete without vintage mud flaps straight outta '85!
The DeLorean is a damn fine looking vehicle, but the BttF Custom Tacoma is on a whole different scale of awesome. And because they're so proud of it, Toyota took the pickup on tour to New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. You know, just to make you even sadder that you can't own one.
But hey, this thing is so badass, maybe Marty will finally get to take Jennifer on that trip to the lake? Just maybe. But, despite the pretty sweet modernizing, I still can't decide on which is cooler, because the 1985 Hi-Lux was pretty slick, as evidenced in this scene:
Go on, have some more pics of the BttF Custom Tacoma:
What did you make of that?
