Springfield's resident palm-tree-haired sociopath, Sideshow Bob, has been doing his damnedest to bury Bart in the ground for 27 seasons, but the crafty adolescent has always managed to evade his nemesis's deadly advances...until now.
Recently, The Simpsons producer Al Jean compared Bob and Bart's perpetual feud to that of Wile E. Coyote and The Road Runner's, explaining that the writers actually wanted to provide viewers (and Sideshow Bob) with a cathartic sense of closure:
When I was a kid I wanted the rabbit to get the Trix. I hated frustration comedies. So we will scratch that itch in the Halloween episode.
Fulfilling that promise, the latest Treehouse of Horror episode, which airs this Sunday, sees Bart finally bite the dust, over and over again. And you can watch the relentless series of executions right now, which sees the sack-talking Simpson succumb to...
Death by hot lead
Death by pork chop
Death by origami
Death by confetti

Al Jean told EW:
His whole life has just been about killing Bart, so what’s next? We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he’s had his whole life.
I guess you would go a little overkill to make up for every one of your previous thwarted schemes!
Obviously this is a special Halloween-themed episode, which are usually treated as non-canon, so expect the spiky-haired skateboarder to be alive and well come next week.
Watch Treehouse of Horror this Sunday on Fox at 8pm.
