If there's anything we can credit Peyton Reed for, it's his work ethic. After taking a heavy hit when it lost Edgar Wright, Ant-Man seemed like the first "doomed" film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- but, much like Ant-Man himself, Reed swooped in later to complete the film. The film was quickly embraced by both die-hard fans and new faces, before it went on to ultimately gross $454.7 million worldwide.
With that in mind, THR reports that Reed is now in negotiations with Marvel Studios to come back for the sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp. Marvel recently announced several new movie dates, while pushing back both Black Panther and Captain Marvel to accommodate the sequel to Ant-Man.
At the moment, there are no writers attached to the film, though fans can likely expect that both Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish will not be making their return as writers for the next film.
Ant-Man and The Wasp releases on July 6th, 2018.
