As we get closer to Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens, I can't help but get excited about once again seeing my favorite thing about Star Wars movies: The lightsaber battles between Jedi and Sith. The vrrrmmmm of the light sabers, the flashes of the blades hitting each other, and the different styles of sword play unique to each fighter are some of the reasons why I love this franchise. Yoda vs. Darth Tyranus, Mace Windu vs Darth Sidious, Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Maul, Obi-Wan vs Anakin/Darth Vader 1 & 2, and of course Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader.

Of course let's not forget the cool space ship battles with the X-Wing fighters and The Millennium Falcon. The new trilogy promises to return fans to some of the best moments of movie history as well as introduce younger fans to this awesome universe.

Now, we all look forward to the action as depicted by the last trailer but we also can't wait for some surprises. This is my wish list on moments I hope we get to experience in the new trilogy.

1) Kylo Ren vs. Luke Skywalker

We all assume Kylo Ren is really Jacen Solo, son of Han and Leia. A promising Jedi who betrays his family and turns to the darkside of the force, he eventually becoming Darth Caedus. In the Force Awakens trailer, he ominously speaks to the burnt helmet of Darth Vader. Promising to "finish what you started." From what we saw in short glimpses, Kylo Ren may be very well trained in the darkside of the force, which is why it will take a true Jedi Master to deal with him. Only one master is left, that being Luke Skywalker.

2) Leia uses "The Force" for the first time!

A great leader, and an icon for the rebellion, Princess Leia has been marveled in many ways through the years within the Star Wars universe. Yet, we rarely talk about the possibilities that exist given the fact that she is the daughter of Darth Vader/ Anakin Skywalker. I hope we finally get to see her in some way embrace her true lineage.

3) Luke Skywalker piloting an X-Wing.

God, there is nothing that will bring fans of the original movies back like seeing Luke in the cockpit of an X-Wing fighter. Although it's unlikely that we'll see Luke in a space battle since he will probably play a role very similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi to his niece, there is still a hope he jumps into an X-Wing with R2D2 in the back and races to join Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon in battle.

So those are the top things on my "I hope we see" in this new trilogy. Comment below and let me know what you hope to see when Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18th.
