Halloween is right around the corner and procrastinators everywhere are rushing to find inspiration for the perfect costume. If you're the kind of person who gravitates towards princesses but also loves horror, UK makeup artist Shonagh Scott has the answer for you in her creepy 'Happily Never After' makeup series.

Shonagh Scott has taken the Disney Princesses we love and given their fates a twist. Instead of the happily ever afters we all know so well, these princesses instead met grisly and untimely ends in various ways. Take a look at her awesome work below:

Elsa, Frozen

In this 'Happily Never After' Elsa's powers backfire, impaling her own neck with an icicle and leaving her with frost bitten fingers.

I guess she's probably not in much of a mood to build a snowman right now.

Ariel, The Little Mermaid

In my version of the 'Happily Never After' Ariel had her voice box ripped out by the sea witch!

Ouch! I guess Ariel should have read the fine print in that contract after all.

Cinderella, Cinderella

While escaping the Prince, Cinders tripped down the stairs, face planted her shoe & impaled her face #‎HappilyNeverAfter!

You'd think Cinderella's Fairy Godmother would have had more sense than to give her glass shoes. With all of the dancing and rush of a curfew, an accident was bound to happen.

Belle, Beauty and the Beast

In my version of this 'Happily Never After' the Beast has lashed out at Belle after she stole his Rose!

That all seems a bit drastic for a rose, but I guess the Beast is just highly territorial of his plants.

Snow White, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

In my version of this 'Happily Never After' the Evil Queen's poisoned Apple has caused a severe chemical burn to poor Snow's face!

Given that chemical burn, I don't think Snow White would be considered the fairest in the land anymore. Mission accomplished for the Evil Queen!
