They may be household names now, but once upon a time the only attachment to fame these celebrities had were the golden arches they worked beneath. Or the furry fast food mascots they stood inside.

These ten world famous faces give us all a little hope, and prove that even the biggest names have to start somewhere.

1. Eva Longoria - Wendy's

Eva Longoria has always been down-to-earth and Desperately hard working. When she was a teenager, she took up a job at the fast food chain Wendy's to pay for her quinceañara, and ended up staying there for six years.

“I make a good Frosty. I was manager by the time I was 18. I love Wendy’s. I love that whole experience in my life. There’s four girls in my family, no boys, and I’m the baby, and nobody got a quinceañara, which is the fifteen birthday for us Mexicans. And, my dad said ‘Your sisters didn’t get a quinceañara, so you’re not getting a quinceañara,’ so I went and got a job and paid for it myself, and then raised money from my family.”

2. James Franco - McDonald's

Imagine pulling up to McDonald's and seeing James Franco behind the drive-thru counter, dressed in a purple visor and polo shirt. While working the job, to keep him amused and train his acting skills, he used to put on fake accents when taking the customers' orders -- which, one time, (almost) landed him with a date!

As bad as the accents were (Brooklynese, Italian, British, Irish, Russian, Southern), people actually found them persuasive. I was asked to give Italian lessons to a cute young woman who thought I was from Pisa; of course I couldn’t follow up as I did not speak Italian.

3. Rachel McAdams - McDonald's

A 16-year-old Rachel McAdams was directing a kids' theater when she took a job at McDonald's to help pay the bills. She stuck it out for three years before moving on, and something tells me they're not aching for her return. Not the ideal employee, McAdams was apparently clumsy and severely lacking enthusiasm.

"I was not a great employee; I broke the orange juice machine one day."

"I'm not sure why they kept me: I am something of a daydreamer and a dawdler, so they would only let me be the 'friendly voice' that greeted you when you entered the restaurant."

4. Brad Pitt - El Pollo Loco

Brad Pitt took a number of bizarre odd jobs to support himself after dropping out of college and moving to L.A. to pursue his acting career. Before he was discovered, he worked moving refrigerators and as a chauffeur for strippers, but the most bizarre was probably dressing up in a giant chicken suit in an attempt to lure customers into 'El Pollo Loco,' a fast-food chicken restaurant.

5. Sharon Stone - McDonald's

Before Sharon Stone's modeling career kicked off, the star followed her Basic Instincts and spent some time flippin' burgers in McDonald's in order to make the cold, hard cash required to support herself.

6. Jason Lee - Taco Bell

According to the book Fame Junkies: The Hidden Truths Behind America’s Favorite Addiction by Jake Halpern, My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee worked for a while at the American-Mexican joint, Taco Bell.

7. Chris Pratt - Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

It would seem that if Chris Pratt had not once worked at a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Hawaii in the late '90s, we may have never known him, for it was here he was "discovered!" Picked up by Rae Dawn Chong, Pratt, who was living out of his van at the time, was then cast in her directorial debut, 2000's Cursed Part 3, and the rest is history.

8. Madonna - Dunkin' Donuts

Always the diva, Madonna was once took a job at Dunkin' Donuts to help support her rise to fame, but she only managed to last one day. She was promptly given the push after squirting jelly filling at a customer. Smooth move, Madge.

9. Jennifer Hudson - Burger King

When Jennifer Hudson was snapped at by Simon Cowell for not mentioning American Idol in her Oscar's acceptance speech for Dreamgirls, Hudson retorted:

"If I'd been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens, I wouldn't be here either, so should I thank them, too?"

The star worked in a Chicago based Burger King when she was 16 years old with her sister. Burger King responded to their ex-colleagues prime public beef with this fantastic statement:

"...In response to Jennifer's recent comments in which she asked if she should be thanking Burger King, we say thanks, but no thanks are necessary. Burger King Corporation is proud of Jennifer's success and while we never like to lose employees, in this case, our loss is the entertainment industry's gain ... To further show our support for Jennifer, and make sure she never has to sing for her supper again, Burger King Corporation is giving her a pre-paid BK Crown Card that will be automatically reloaded for life."

10. Amy Adams - Hooters

When Amy Adams was 18 years old, she made her extra bucks working as a waitress in Hooters, a job which she looks back on fondly.

"Well I was like 18, so everybody has the body at 18," she said. "But it was a great job out of high school and I was a hostess at first, and then I waited tables for a while, and it was great. It was a great way for me to earn money for college."
