Supergirl just aired it's first episode and casting details have been released about the newest DC character making their way to the latest DCTV show.
Playing Conrad Grayson on Revenge for three seasons, Henry Czerny has scored himself a role on Supergirl playing Winslow Schott.
Does the name sound familiar?
Winslow Schott is the father of Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and also happens to be the real name of the villainous Toyman.
"Winslow Schott, Sr. is a classic D.C. supervillain, a mad criminal genius known as Toyman – and Winn’s estranged father. Toyman weaponizes toys to wreak destruction and revenge but is ultimately driven by one thing – the obsessive desire to reunite with his beloved son."
Warner Bros. description of Supergirl's Winslow Schott/Toyman.
Created by Don Cameron and Ed Dobrotka way back in 1943, Toyman first appeared in Action Comics #64, made his screen debut in animated form on The New Adventures of Superman and it wasn't until 1994 that Schott made his live action debut in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Czerny is only slated to appear in one episode at the moment and no word on when that episode will go to air.
Supergirl airs Monday on CBS.
This is one of the things I like about the DCTV Universe; seeing all these DC characters making appearances on my TV screens, especially not the main ones we tend to see over and over again.
