That's right, Vault Dwellers! If you managed to preorder a copy of Fallout 4, you will have the chance to preload Bethesda Softworks' latest and greatest addition to the Fallout series. So whether you are gaming on Xbox One, PS4 or PC, you'll be able to jump straight back into the Wasteland of post-apocalyptic America and lay waste to those pesky Raiders. Just watch out for Deathclaws!
Bethesda's vice president of PR and marketing, Pete Hines, confirmed the Fallout 4 preload availability via this tweet:
The decision to make Fallout 4 preloadable is not only absolutely awesome, but also really important. Currently, we have no idea exactly how big Fallout 4 is going to be - but I can assure you it's going to be BIG. To get an idea of just how big, PC Gamer highlighted that although you can purchase the Fallout 4 disc for PC, you'll still have to partially download the game from Steam. That's crazy! So for all those gamers who struggle to download games as soon as they're released, this preload option is definitely for you!
However, there is a slight catch to this awesome feature. Pete Hines stated that if you purchased a physical copy of Fallout 4, you won't be able to preload the game. Unfortunately, there's just no such thing a preloading a disc-based game yet. So while all the gamers who bought the downloadable version of Fallout 4 have access to the game the second it's released, others will have to wait until they install the game from the disc. On the bright side, limited edition buyers got themselves a nifty Vault Boy bobblehead figure!
With Fallout 4's November 10 release creeping around the corner, make sure you keep your eyes open for the preload announcement! This will ensure that you are ready to build your settlement, don your Power Armor, and kick some Wastelander butt with Dogmeat!
