Young love is a seriously fickle mistress. Even though we like to think that the celebrities we adore have it all figured out, even the toughest publicist in Hollywood can't quite get a handle on matters of the heart.
Today it seems like the Hunger Games star and his Last Song co-star and ex-fiancée, Miley Cyrus, are worlds apart in their careers and life choices, but Hemsworth had nothing but kind and classy things to say about the singer and their relationship in a recent interview with Men's Fitness.
After being asked if he felt he "dodged a bullet" after the young pair broke off their engagement in 2013, he reflected upon their time together in a very mature way, even going so far as to defend her actions.

[Laughs.] I mean, look—we were together five years, so I don’t think those feelings will ever change. And that’s good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn’t just a fling. It really was an important part of my life and always will be. She’s a free spirit. I think she’ll always surprise people with what she does, but she’s not a malicious person in any way. Words like that make it seem like even going through a breakup with Liam might be a somewhat pleasant experience. It's also a really great thing that he's able to look back on his time with Miley fondly and without regrets.
Sadly for us regular folk, he's not looking for love at the moment. As it should be, he is taking his mid-20s to focus on his burgeoning career and prioritizing his friends and family.
Yeah, dating’s really difficult. I’m constantly traveling, and I don’t go out to clubs or anything like that. I have a great small group of friends in my life, but I barely ever meet anyone new. It’s tough to have a relationship in this industry, though not to the point where it makes me depressed. I’m constantly working, and I love working. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything at this point—I feel like I’m focusing on the right things and prioritizing things in the right way, and I’m a healthy, happy person.
As long as he's happy, we're happy. And in the meantime...
