(Warning - the following contains mild SPOILERS for future episodes of Gotham - proceed with caution and all that...)

Now, whether you're a Bat-fan of '90s animated TV series, classic comic books, or colossally campy Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring movies, there's a pretty good chance that you have a pleasantly icy place in your heart reserved for a certain Dr. Victor 'Mr. Freeze' Fries.

After all, there really isn't a cooler Batman villain out there (what with Captain Cold being more a Flash foe, and all) than Mr. Freeze, surely?

Well, if so, then there's good news afoot for television-based Bat-fans everywhere - since it seems that...

Mr. Freeze Is Officially On His Way to 'Gotham'

What's more, Freeze is set to be played in the show by House of Cards star Nathan Darrow (above right), who'll step into the recurring role later this season. The big question still remaining, of course, is just how faithful to Freeze's earlier appearances Gotham's good doctor will prove to be.

With his official character description sounding pretty close to the comic books, though, we might not have too much to worry about...

"Though ferociously smart and eminently capable in his work as one of Gotham’s preeminent cryogenics engineers, Victor struggles to make meaningful connections with others. The one exception is his wife, Nora (casting TBA), who has tragically fallen ill with a terminal disease. Victor’s love for Nora knows no bounds, so as her condition worsens, he goes to extreme measures to figure out a way to freeze her before she dies. This harrowing journey leads to his transformation into the legendary DC villain, Mr. Freeze."

The next big question, then?

Just What'll Gotham's Freeze Look Like?

Well, it's a pretty safe bet that the televisual Freeze'll take after his earlier (and indeed, many of the more recent) comic book interpretations, and ultimately wind up a very bald, very encased in glass supervillain.

Until that's confirmed, though, let's all sit back and enjoy perennial celebrity superhero-ifier BossLogic's take on just what Darrow's Freeze could look like if he goes the full blue route we know and love from Schwarzengger's day...

A stone cold likeness if ever there was one, no?

What do you reckon, though?
