Switching from the sweaty summer activities to lounging around indoors during fall is one of the easiest transitions. As soon as the weather cools and the nights get longer, my television starts playing Halloween-themed movies. And what would a Halloween movie marathon be without the 1993 cult classic, Hocus Pocus?

Every Halloween season I turn on the childhood favorite and my crush for the young Thackery Binx reignites like the black-flame candle after being lit by a virgin. Maybe it's just my love of the holiday and Bette Midler's singing voice, but Hocus Pocus certainly put a spell on me.

While talking to ABC News, stars of the film Vinessa Shaw (Allison), Thora Birch (Dani), Sean Murray (Thackery Binx), and Doug Jones (Billy Butcherson) discussed what it was like working on this Halloween hit. Throughout the interview, they each revealed some pretty interesting bits of behind-the-scenes facts.

Here are nine things we learned about Hocus Pocus 20 years after the films came out:

1. They had no idea how popular the movie would become

Shaw: I don't think any of us had any idea of the magnitude of how popular it would be 'til this day. It just goes to show that when you are young you watch things over and over again and it gets in your head, and just sticks.
Jones: It's become the 'Wizard of Oz' for Halloween. I had no idea that we'd have kids outside of our original audience becoming fans in 2015, but it has been such a sweet blessing

2. Unlike Dani, Thora was not a fan of the cat

Birch: Dani was in love with the cat. For me, I had an issue whenever the cat came up. There were a number of live cats, animatronic cats -- the thing with the cat was a toss-up. You never knew what would happen.

3. Sarah Jessica Parker has never seen 'Hocus Pocus'

When asked when she watched it last in a recent interview with E!, the blonde Sanderson sister replied:

SJP: Never! Or maybe when it came out.

4. Binx is finally passing his legacy along to his kids

Murray: I'm actually, on Halloween, going to show my daughter 'Hocus Pocus' for the first time

5. The cast remains close friends

Birch: All three of us [Birch, Shaw and Katz], we got along great. Me and Vinessa, whenever we see each other, it's like old friends getting back together. She's just a wonderful person.

6. The kids had some pretty fun neighbors while filming

Shaw: Thora [Birch] and I would sing a million songs and run around and be crazy on the Disney lot. Tim Allen's show 'Home Improvement' was filming, so the kids of 'Hocus Pocus' and 'Home Improvement' were on the lot and high-fiving each other.

7. Birch is most recognized as playing Dani

Despite starring in an Academy Award-winning picture (American Beauty) Thora Birch is still mostly known as "the girl from Hocus Pocus."

8. So is Shaw, but luckily people don't bring up this old line

I'm remembered mostly for 'Hocus Pocus.' When I grew up, they'd mostly say 'Ohhh, Allison,' but thankfully, they keep the 'Yabbos' comment to themselves

9. Some of the cast members are interested in doing a sequel

Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Middler have both said they'd be interested in reprising their roles, and I can't help but let my mind wander with the possibilities.

It's been 22 years since we saw the Sanderson sisters explode into shimmery piles of dust, and I think we're all eager to see how they could come back from that. Maybe we can call out to Book and make some Hollywood magic happen!
