Greetings sports fan! Lets not waste any time and get right into week 8 of Friends in Square Places Fan Duel BEAT DOWN. You can blame the late post on my recovery from the previous week but I've bounced backs strong and am ready to give you another week of picks!

Looking back we find that we are back on top! After a slew of single digit below average weeks we come through with our second 10 win week of the season.

Even though we missed on the Jets they still managed to cover at the last second so win win and on to the next!

WEEK 8

BEAT DOWN OF THE WEEK

Indianapolis Colts (3-4) at Carolina Panthers (6-0) -6.5

Colts are not a very good team and Andrew Luck has played below average and even though they are still atop of the weak AFC South there is talk of Chuck Pigano being out at the end of the season. I'm tempted to think that they might use this game as a stepping stone but Monday Night at home in Carolina is where Cam Newton shines the most.

COLTS 19

PANTHERS 38

Miami Dolphins(3-4) at New England Patriots(7-0)-7.5

My original BEAT DOWN pick but I wondered if the Dolphins were gonna be able to keep it close. No surprise Brady had other plans.

DOLPHINS 13

PATRIOTS 30

Detroit Lions (1-6) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (2-5) -5.5

Once again Detroit finds itself playing for the first pick in next years draft and November is just getting started. With the decline of Megatron I can see Laquon Treadwell in their horizon. KC at home after breaking their fall is a good bet.

*The Lions haven’t won as underdogs in November since 2006.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) at Atlanta Falcons (6-1) -6.5

Atlanta is quietly building up steam toward their post season run while their defense will help Tampa Bay continue to break in Jameis WInston.

JETS THIS WEEK

New York Jets (4-2) at Oakland Raiders (3-3) +1.5

Jets look to bounce back after their tough loss to the Patriots. They may have shown that they are a better team than what people thought they were going to be but they sill aren't considered elite. They get another shot against the Pats but for now they'll have to focus on beat a much improved Raiders team that is trigger happy and can be streaky. The Jets defense should get pressure on Carr who is going to have trouble getting to his duo of Cooper and Crabtree. Look for them to do what the Patriots did which is ditch the run entirely especially since they are bringing in the 31st run offense in the league against the #1 run defense with the Jets.

Jets biggest concern will be injuries to Decker and Mangold who are listed as Questionable. If Ivory plays and can carry the load they Jets should come out on top. They are the better team.
