Trek's 50-year-old franchise needs more women captains - that's a no-brainer. The only ones who immediately spring to mind are Voyager's Janeway and Star Trek: Enterprise's Erika Hernandez, the latter providing a love interest for Archer and an alternative ship as Trip's escape from his unrequited love for T'Pol. Starfleet, as a progressive and diverse piece of the Federation, must have had scores of female captains. So where are they? Simon Pegg is an intelligent fellow, so here's hoping for more than just another sexual conquest for Kirk.
