Every now and then the world of cinema collides with the sweet dimension of music and a familiar face pops up on the screen who is no less than the creator of those rock anthems on your iPod. Rockstar cameos might be low-profile in movies but they are more frequent than you might think. Here are 7 cameos you might have totally missed:
Michael Jackson - Men in Black II (2002)
The (in)famous pop icon appeared in the second installment of the Men in Black trilogy just for three lines. While the singer is in plain sight and easy to identify somehow this never really occurred to me the first few times I saw the movie. Did you miss it too?
George Harrison - The Life of Brian (1979)
The ex-Beatle, who was also the executive producer, can be spotted in a red robe for the brief duration of just ten seconds in a crowd scene of this amazing Monty Python comedy.
Michael 'Flea' Balzary - Back to the Future Part II (1989)
The bass guitarist of the funk-punk-rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers plays a small role in the sequel of Back to the Future with tons of make-up to make him look old for the '2015' scenes.
Anthony Kiedis - Point Break (1991)
Another member of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, lead-singer Anthony Kiedis appears for the sake of one line in a fighting scene of Point Break, face-to-face with Keanu Reeves.
Mick Jagger – The Bank Job (2008)
The living, breathing, rock legend can be spotted in Roger Donaldson's The Bank Job. He has no lines and no credit in the movie and is in it so fast, you could blink and almost miss him. So keep a close eye!
Dave Grohl - The Muppets (2011)
He is in the background in this cameo as Animool in the band the Moopets (a take on Animal in the real life Muppets) and literally sings three lines from the Rainbow Connection Reno Revue remix, unless you are big Dave Grohl fan, he is easy to miss in the film.
Daft Punk - Tron Legacy (2011)
The electric duo play disc jockeys at Zuse’s club just before a big fight erupts and Jeff Bridges arrives to save the day.
