Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is a comedy movie about a group of weirdos that enter a dodgeball tournament in order to save their local gym from being overtaken by a large health fitness chain. But, this movie starring Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and so many other great comedians, is filled with a whole ton of fun facts and goofs! So, here's a nice little list of those facts and goofs!
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!
In the movie there is a scene where Rip Torn throws a wrench at Justin Long, Long's eyebrow was actually cut open by that first wrench. Producers made sure all of the other wrenches thrown were made of rubber, but the first was much harder than all the others.
Throughout the movie there are four scenes where White Goodman snaps his fingers. If you press the 'enter' button on your remote every time he snaps his fingers you'll see an easter egg. These Easter Eggs are deleted scenes that are not included in the special features.
ESPN 8 "The Ocho"!
The movie refers to ESPN 8 "The Ocho", as kind of a way to show how many ESPN channels there are. "The Ocho" is supposed to poke fun at a nickname formerly used by ESPN2, "the Deuce".
That's A Bold Strategy, Cotton!
The casting directors badly wanted James Franco for the part of Pepper Brooks.! As we all know though, Jason Bateman ended up getting the part. This is because Franco was too busy, due to the filming of Spider-Man 2.
