This is one of those moments when you simply have to just stop and stare as the goosebumps wash over your skin and envelop your entire body. Watching Call Of Duty's latest gameplay trailer showcasing their rebooted Nuketown map is such a moment.
A star was born. Nuketown was first introduced back in 2010 with the release of the original Black Ops title. It achieved almost immediate notoriety within Call of Duty fandom and soon became one of the game's best and most played multiplayer maps. It also featured in Black Ops II, and now makes a welcome return to Black Ops III.
The fan favorite is back with an all new take on the classic! We are now a full 40 years on from BO2's Nuketown 2025. Officially known as 'Nuk3town 2065,' this latest reveal looks like the best adaptation yet.
The map has been tweaked to cater to Treyarch's new gameplay dynamics. The aesthetics have also been rejigged to fit in with the bright futuristic feel of Black Ops III. The new layout will allow for plenty of wall-running, boost-jumping and power-sliding.
Unlike previous Nuketown maps, the gameplay is no longer a linear ground battle. Players will now be able to gain access to higher areas otherwise inaccessible in the previous editions.
You can either take your socks off now, or you can let this latest gameplay trailer from the Black Ops team do it for you! Listen carefully and you will hear all new cheesy comments coming from the characters as well as new customization options and weapons. Enjoy.
Speaking about the new map, Treyarch boss Mark Lamia said:
"We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place," - Treyarch boss Mark Lamia
Call of Duty: Black Ops is back with an almighty bang! It's bigger, it's badder and its all new gameplay system will quite literally blow your face off! Black Ops 3 is the best shooter to hit the scene in years. This installment is head and shoulders above the rest. Treyarch, I tip my gaming cap.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 6th. There is still no word on whether the Nuketown DLC will be available on last gen machines, though.
