I used to make chicken for a living, now I'm a full time nerd.

They sold out arenas, captivated audiences and... well... then they just disappeared. Huge stars who gave it their all and stole our hearts are now just a distant memory. While some still wrestle, others pursued a different career. These are the 5 forgotten WWE Superstars!

Scotty 2 Hotty

Scotty ditched his super hot dance moves for a career in the emergency services! Originally trained as a medical technician, Scotty went on to put his wrestling skills to good use by graduating from the Lake Tech Fire Academy and becoming a firefighter! Later on he decided that it wasn't for him and is now enjoying a successful career as real estate agent! Since leaving WWE he has made special guest appearances on both Raw and NXT.

While Scotty may have been one of the most entertaining wrestlers in history, my next entrant was without a doubt the most frightening!

Gangrel

Who doesn't remember The Brood? The feared vampire stable, that included the likes of Christian and Hall of Famer Edge, terrified audiences around the globe for years. The head of that group, the fanged, fearsome Gangrel, has taken a more trashy route after his WWE career. After leaving the company in 2001 he has since directed several adult movies for the XXX company New Porn Order (NPO).

Maybe he could team up with my next entry...

Chyna

Joan Marie Laurer, better known by her ring name Chyna, is the most dominating female wrestler the industry has ever seen. With pinfall victories over Triple H, Jeff Jarret and even winning the Intercontinental Championship from Chris Jericho, Chyna was a force to be reckoned with in WWE. On top of winning the Intercontinental title (the only woman to achieve this feat) she was even booked to win the WWF Championship! Well she only went and ruined it all for herself didn't she...

After leaving the WWE, Chyna and fellow wrestler X-Pac released a sex tape titled "One Night in China". She has subsequently starred in a further five XXX movies. Paul 'Triple H' Levesque has revealed that the main reason Chyna has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is due to her pornographic background.

While Chyna may have ruined her chances to be inducted, this next superstar deserves it more than anyone on this list...

Rey Mysterio

The ultimate underdog that became the ultimate champion. Through his death defying and gravity breaking manoeuvres, Mysterio became the most popular high flyer in WWE's history! From breaking title records to winning the Royal Rumble and becoming a world champion, Mysterio has done it all in the WWE. So where is he?

Since leaving WWE in early 2015, Mysterio returned to AAA (Asistencia Asesoría y Administración) the company that kick-started his illustrious career! He gained notoriety earlier this year for his "kick of death" controversy. While wrestling against El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mysterio performed his 619 finisher to win the match. Three days later, Aguayo died from the freak accident. Rumours have circulated that Rey will return to the WWE, but with the controversy surrounding the botched 619, I can't see this happening.

While Rey was an unexpected World Champion, my next entrant is quite possibly the greatest athlete to never win a World Championship.

Shelton Benjamin

What an athlete this man was! The longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of the past decade, the winner of PWI's Tag Team of the Year award and a record breaking three time winner of the Most Underrated Wrestler award. Benjamin was severely underutilized to say the least!

Hailed as the greatest pure athlete on WWE's roster, Benjamin continuously proved his athletic ability week in week out on Raw. In his first two years with the company he had defeated the likes of Triple H, Randy Orton and had wrestled some of the greatest pure wrestling matches with Shawn Michaels. If anyone deserved to win the World Championship, it was him. Jim Ross revealed last month that his mic skills stopped him from becoming Champion, something Ross had wanted since Benjamin first began wrestling.

Since leaving WWE, Benjamin has wrestled for Ring of Honor, Global Force Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, becoming a top superstar in all 3 promotions. If there was ever a superstar that WWE wrongly never pushed, it was Shelton Benjamin. If anyone disagrees with that statement, here is his match between Shawn Michaels on Raw.
