Tip of the hat to The Wrap for dropping the exclusive news that apparently Nicole Kidman has been cast alongside Gal Gadot in Warner Bros' Wonder Woman, set to be directed by Patty Jenkins. This news brings instant star power to what is already a highly anticipated comic book film.

While this isn't confirmed, she's allegedly "in talks" (which, in Hollywood lingo, pretty much means she's pretty close to being confirmed) to play the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta, who also happens to be Diana Prince’s biological mother. As a warning, it's unclear how similar to the comic books the script will be, so we shall see what they do with Kidman's character in 2017.

While Wonder Woman will make an appearance in [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870), she won't arrive on the scene with her solo movie until June 23, 2017.

On the heels of an A-lister turning down a comic book role (Matthew McConaughey turned down a villainous role in GOTG 2), this news is especially important as it's an A-lister embracing one.

What do you think? Is Nicole Kidman the right fit for this role?
