Ever since 1962's Dr. No, there have been several women in James Bond's adventures who have stolen his heart. From Ursula Andress all the way to Lea Seydoux today, the list is endless. But who can be the next big Bond girl? Today I will be giving out my personal Top 10 picks on who should be the next Bond girl.
10. Michelle Rodriguez
Kicking off the list is one chick who totally kicks some serious ass. Michelle Rodriguez. Being no stranger to the role of the love interest of the main character, Rodriguez could bring Bond to another potential love circle and give it all she's got to kick ass at the bad guys. Rodriguez is best known for her role as Letty Ortiz in the ever popular Fast and Furious franchise and as one of Sam Worthington's friends in the 2009 epic Avatar. So who can't deny that Rodriguez has what it takes for Bond?
9. Zoe Saldana
When there is a chick who knows action, one can't deny Zoe Saldana. Saldana is definitely worth the next Bond girl because she has been such a rising star. Saldana is best known for her role as Uhura in the 2009 Star Trek remake and its sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. She is set to reprise the role in next summer's Star Trek Beyond. Saldana is also best known for her role as the assassin Gamora in Marvel's smash hit Guardians of the Galaxy. She is also set to reprise the role in 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Worth taking the pick? I certainly hope so.
8. Hayley Atwell
So if you are looking for a British Bond girl, this next one will surprise you: Hayley Atwell is a superb pick (for me). She is such a rising star, it comes to no surprise that she has played a pretty solid career. Her being the next Bond girl will definitely be a highlight. Atwell is best known for her portrayal of Peggy Carter in the Marvel films Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man and her brief role as Cinderella's mother in this past spring's remake of Cinderella. She also plays the Peggy Carter character in the ABC spin-off show Agent Carter. Can she do it? One can only hope.
7. Jaimie Alexander
For one who is definitely worth a Bond girl, I think that #7 is worth going to Jaimie Alexander. She has a pretty solid accent and a superb kick-ass style to whatever she gets in her way to try and get to Bond's aide. Alexander's only best known role is Lady Sif in the Marvel films Thor and Thor The Dark World. She has also appeared in the spin-off show Agents of SHIELD. Not much to say about Alexander except that she is totally worth taking Bond girls up a notch at any level possible.
6. Liv Tyler
As far as award-winning actresses go, Liv Tyler is worth the count for the next pick of the future Bond girl. She has had such a solid career over the years I believe her to be a solid pick if chosen. Tyler is no stranger to playing the love interest of a main character because of her roles as elf Arwen in The Lord of the Rings and Betty Ross in Marvel's The Incredible Hulk. Is she totally worth it? We may never know who may get chosen.
5. Gal Gadot
Any girl can be a Bond girl. And who else but Gal Gadot for the next pick? Since she is a rising action star, this is no different. If picked, Gadot would totally be worth the pick of the next Bond girl. She is most recognizable as Giselle in the Fast and Furious franchise and can be seen as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in next year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. But after the DC run, can Gadot be the next Bond girl? Hmmm. Only one can hope so. Two Fast and Furious chicks. Such a record!!
4. Anne Hathaway
For someone who is a leading lady, who can't deny Anne Hathaway as a Bond girl? For an Academy Award winning actress, she sure knows how to nail a movie role. Hathaway is best known for her roles as the lead role in both Princess Diaries and Princess Diaries 2 Royal Engagement opposite Julie Andrews, Agent 99 in Get Smart opposite Steve Carell and Dwayne Johnson, Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises opposite Christian Bale and Fantine in 2012's award-winning musical movie adaptation of Les Miserables opposite Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried. But is she worth holding Bond's martini and carrying a gun? One can hope so.
3. Natalie Portman
If Jaimie Alexander is enough, why not get Natalie Portman in? That's right folks. Right up, Portman delivers such a great performance as a love interest and a protagonist which is worth the next 007 girl. Portman is probably best known for her roles as Padme Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, the political thriller V for Vendetta opposite Hugo Weaving and as Jane Foster in the Marvel films Thor and Thor: The Dark World. Can she pull off the next Bond girl? Well, I certainly hope so.
2. Scarlett Johansson
Now down to my top 2. I had to juggle these last two candidates around a bit because they are so well-known. At #2 is Scarlett Johansson. Who can't deny that Johansson is still one of today's best leading actresses in cinema history? Bond girl material? You bet she is. She has had so many great roles over the past several years that includes voice work in The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie, her role as the female lead in films like Don Jon and Lucy and more frequently, her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the MCU films Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron. She is set to reprise the role once again in next summer's Captain America: Civil War. Who can't deny Scarlett Johansson in the lead as the Bond girl for Bond 25? I certainly can not deny.
1. Emma Watson
If you all thought I wouldn't include one of my fave actresses, and if you guessed Emma Watson, you were right!!! Though she is in her mid 20's, I believe she definitely has what it takes for the next Bond girl if accepted in on the role. She is still a star-in-the-making and has had a solid take on acting for her career. Not only that, but Watson has spoken at various conferences on the Women's right for Education. Her roles include Hermione Granger in the highly successful Harry Potter franchise, the leading lady in the highly successful Perks of Being a Wallflower opposite Logan Lerman, and supporting roles in This is the End, Noah and Colina. Watson is set to star as Belle in the upcoming live-action remake of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast opposite Luke Evans, Potter co-star Emma Thompson, Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Dan Stevens and Stanley Tucci. Totally worth taking my #1 spot on the Next Bond girl list because of her smashing success.
