If you spent the eve of Halloween on Google, searching through results for "last minute costume ideas," frantically trying to come up with a good idea, then perhaps you should avert your eyes now.
They say if you aim for the stars, you may reach the moon, but Christina Borchardt's Halloween creation of Rocket Raccoon (I'm a poet and I don't know it) is out of this galaxy, let alone our solar system!
Christina has posted pictures on Facebook of her self-made costume that is so insanely lifelike, it wouldn't look out of place on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy. It's also legitimately scary... I mean, imagine walking home at night and seeing this running around frantically, carrying a seemingly loaded gun?
Although CGI was used for the character in the film, director James Gunn actually used a real-life raccoon on the set to help animators portray movement and facial expressions more accurately.
Bradley Cooper voiced the genetically engineered bounty hunter in the 2014 Marvel movie, which grossed $774 million. You can see a clip of Rocket Raccoon in action below:
However, this outfit, made from scratch for her son, could save movie producers some money in future. Not only does it look almost identical, it's jaw moves when her son talks. It's a bizarre mix of cute and creepy, although mainly the latter... Looks at the eyes... It's the stuff nightmares are made of!
Christina is planning on using the outfit at next year's Comic-Con, although it's made its debut for Halloween this year, and is also in the running to receive an award for best costume.
