[X-Men: Days Of Future Past](tag:203942) was definitely a surprise hit for Fox and one of the biggest takeaways from the film was Evan Peter's outstanding performance as Peter Maximoff, a.k.a Quicksilver. Quicksilver really was one of the best parts of Days of Future Past and many have been waiting in anticipation for his next appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse. While much is still not known about what exactly will transpire. Evan Peters has confirmed that we may be getting introduced to a pretty awesome story arc!
Evan Peters Confirms Quicksilver Is Looking for His Father!
For those of you that are unaware, Quicksilver's father in the comics is none other than the biggest X-Men villain himself, Magneto. This was confirmed to be the case in the films by director Bryan Singer and Magneto actor Michael Fassbender. Evan Peters was recently asked a couple of things about [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) and he had some pretty exciting things to say!
“Absolutely, It’s the biggest X-Men film, it's about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge.”
I already know what you're thinking and no, he does not mean the zombie apocalypse or anything like that. The interviewer was wondering the same thing, and when asked if the film was about zombies, he had this to say:
”Ha! No, it's not. Although that would be amazing if Apocalypse [the evil mutant] brought back the dead to help him take over the earth. I love zombies; I can't get enough. But the story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”
So Quicksilver Joins The X-Men During His Search for His Father?
So Quicksilver will be on a crusade to find his father, Magneto, and in turn stumbles upon the X-Team and helps them to take down Apocalypse. Quicksilver's skills will obviously be an integral part of this brand-new X-Men team's success in defeating the always powerful Apocalypse. It will be awesome to see the father/son dynamic layout between Michael Fassbender and Evan Peters. I definitely expect some humorous moments between the two and it should make for some awesome on-screen chemistry!
Will This Affect Quicksilver's Allegiance?
Ok, so by now we all know that Quicksilver's father, Magneto, is going to be one of the famed Four Horseman alongside Apocalypse in the film. In Quicksilver's search for his father, could this sway his allegiance towards Apocalypse's side? I don't think that would be the case, but expect some serious decisions to come Quicksilvers way. Man, talk about daddy issues...
Quicksilver will be even better in Apocalypse!
I loved Quicksilver in DoFP and I think he will be even better in Apocalypse! His dynamic personality and the way that Bryan Singer has used this to his advantage is outstanding. Hopefully they continue that and we get another signature Slo-Mo scene like we did in Days of Future Past. Who would have thought that Quicksilver would be so popular? You didn't see that coming! Wait...wrong one. *cries*
