[Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) is still several months away, but there's already fierce speculation about the main plot points of the film. Every frame of the trailer has been analysed in great detail, leading to even more theories, which leads to counter theories, which leads to rumours... And on and on until the film comes out.

Every fan wants to be the first to guess a vital Batman vs Superman plot point, and every so often Zack Snyder steps in to debunk a few ideas and keep the fans on track (or direct them away from the truth). But there's still plenty of plot points we missed, so did you spot Bizarro in the trailer?

It's definitely not clear is it? Well, thanks to this new fan theory Bizarro might have been hiding in plain sight all along...

It's That Desert Sequence Again!

Yup, the most debated part of the trailer yet again provides us with some hints. Is it a dream sequence? Has Superman really gone all megalomaniac and hired a bunch of personal soldiers? Or is it a smear campaign by Lex Luthor?

The sequence features Batman seemingly in pursuit of Superman in an unknown desert location. We see Batman beset by black clad soldiers, who also bear the sigil of the House of El. And there's this interesting shot where they bow down to Superman, in a very cult-ish way...

It doesn't seem very in character for the stalwart and humble Clark Kent to hire his own personal army, and much less to allow them to kneel before him. So maybe this isn't Superman... But Bizarro instead!

Bizarro is the cloned version of Superman, and is basically the exact opposite of the iconic hero. Instead of having a heart of gold, Bizarro is chaotic and violent, believing that his way is the right way (which makes him very difficult to reason with). Narratively speaking, it makes a lot of sense to include Bizarro in the film, as he demonstrates the destructive and dangerous potential of Superman himself. And there have actually been a lot more clues than you might think about Bizarro's appearance...

Hidden In Plain Sight

There are quite a few scenes that fans have used to support the theory that Bizarro will play a large role in the plot. One fan in particular suggested that it's not even Superman fighting Batman, but Bizarro. This is because he uses his heat vision against Batman: one of Superman's more destructive powers, his heat vision can literally carve through stone. Using this on Batman would eviscerate him, and there's no way Bruce could survive. Has Superman turned into a cold blooded killer, or is this really Bizarro?

How Bizarro could have come into being also provides a lot of hints. Most fans point to Zod's body being in Lex Luthor's custody as evidence that Lex is hoping to clone either Zod or Superman. Superman is also shown kneeling to Lex in the trailer - is this a result of Lex's rise to power, or is the person kneeling actually Bizarro?

Ok, that's pretty much all the hints we've had so far about this plot point, in Batman vs Superman at least. There have been multiple rumours about Bizarro (and Brainiac) being used in Man Of Steel 2 (if that film ever gets produced). The only thing to do is to consider whether Zack Snyder is likely to use Bizarro in Batman vs Superman... and I personally don't think he will.

Using a Superman clone in the final battle between the heroes feels like a cop-out (and fans would not be happy without their definitive answer to the immortal question of who would win). And it doesn't make a lot of sense that Lex would bother to clone Superman only to sic him on Batman, when it seems like he can rile the heroes up to the point of conflict simply using his words. But I guess we'll only find out when the film is released.

So what do you think: would you like to see Bizarro in Dawn Of Justice, and are there any clues we missed? Let us know in the comments, or write your own post!
