To some, the Latin phrase might seem like pure gibberish or a weird arrangement of letters, While to others, this important phrase is what kept us going through what was (in my opinion) one of the greatest video game trilogies of all time: The Uncharted video game series. [* "Greatness From Small Beginnings"]

After playing, re-playing, and reviewing (check out my review for the "Nathan Drake Collection" here) the trilogy a few times, it has become one of the most exhilarating, dramatic and action-filled adventure games that I have ever played.
It has affected me so much as a newcomer to the series, that it has obtained my full attention to the point where I went digging around the interwebs and found out that there was game-to-film adaptation happening, over at Sony!

Although the film may seem to be in "development-hell" and keeps having its release date pushed back, it is fantastic to hear that we may see one of our favorite treasure hunters (right next to Indiana Jones) make his big screen debut. It has me so pumped up, that I have decided to list a few movie stars that (I believe) would fill the roles greatly and bring justice to each character.

Therefore, I present to you my fan-casting for the upcoming Uncharted film!

First up, Nathan Drake! I would cast... Nathan Fillion!

Aside from the complete resemblance to the video game character, I believe that Nathan Fillion would be fantastic for the role because of his charismatic ways (that we have clearly seen him show off as Malcolm Reynolds on the short-lived Firefly series), his humor-filled vocabulary, his stunning dramatic performances and his general bad-assery! (Okay, maybe that last one wasn't really a reason...)
Not only has Fillion heavily expressed interest for the role in the past, but he also has the go-ahead from Nathan Drake himself! Well, by that I mean his voice actor, the incredible Nolan North!

Next, Elena Fisher! I would cast... Julia Stiles!

Julia Stiles has been one of my favorite actresses, after seeing her incredible performance as Lumen Pierce on the crime/drama series Dexter. Something about the way she portrayed the character was so captivating and real, that when coming up with this casting decision, I didn't even have to think twice.
Not only does Julia look almost identical to Elena Fisher, but I also believe that she would bring the best performance to the news reporter gone treasure hunter, all thanks to her adventurous husband, Nathan Drake.

Next up, Victor "Sully" Sullivan! I would cast... J.K. Simmons!

If J.K. Simmons' performance as... well, anybody in any movie didn't make you think that he was perfect for any role, than we may have a problem. (Just kidding. We're still cool.)
Why J.K. Simmons though? Because his amazing chemistry with the actors that he works with and the audience themselves is what urges me to have him play Sully. Imagine a scenario where Fillion as Drake and Simmons as Sully are kicking a** throughout a jungle area, filled with mercenaries, exchanging one-liners and having a hell of a time. Yet after it's all done, they still have that father/son relationship and/or moment that touches the hearts of the viewers.
Plus, it'd be insanely kickass to see J.K. take on an action/adventure role! J. Jonah Jameson with a shotgun?! Tell me that wouldn't be insanely cool...

Next, Chloe Frazer! I would cast... Jaime Murray!

It may seem like I'm trying to reunite some of the cast of Dexter, but believe me, that's not my intention! (Eh, maybe I am. That show was too good.)
Chloe Frazer's character in the game was a sexy, adventurous anti-heroine, which I'm pretty sure that Jaimie Murray would be able to bring to the big screen. Her character portrayals in shows such as Dexter and Spartacus clearly prove that Murray has the potential to be a sexy, villainous woman, but imagine her swaying between the good and bad sides of each team as the film progresses. It'd be interesting to see that unfold throughout the second and third acts and I'm quite confident that Jaimie can make it happen!

And last but not least, our villain Zoran Lazarevic! I would cast... Ray Stevenson!

Alright, you caught me. I guess I am trying to do a revival of Dexter within the Uncharted film. Not my fault, the cast was so good! (Kudos to Shawn Dawson)
Not only does he protect the nine realms with Thor as Volstagg, but he can also be one badass, bad-guy stomping "Punisher" (See what I did there?) as Frank Castle. Ray Stevenson has proven that he can not only play the part of a ruthless, maniacal villain but also the smooth, psychological one which he portrays in Dexter. This is my ultimate choice for a villain in the upcoming film.

Punish Nathan Drake.

And here's a bonus one: Charlie Cutter! I would cast... Jason Statham!

Everyone loves a humorous supporting character, that goes along with a great main cast. What makes that funny supporting character even better? If he's a badass, fighting-ready, treasure hunting Englishman. Thanks to the amazing people at Naughty Dog for creating such a character in the game and the wonderful parents of Jason Statham, we now have both.
Statham would be a fantastic Charlie Cutter in the film adaptation, by bringing his kickass MMA moves while also delivering a hilarious performance of one of my favorite characters in the video game series. If Spy wasn't a good enough reassurance of his comedic ways, then you're definitely in for a surprise.

You're bloody welcome, your majesty

I am sure there are tons of other roles I could have included in this fan cast, but I believe this ultimate list of badasses will do the job and make it a great adaptation. We can only keep our fingers crossed at the moment that things will go well with the project and it will be released from "development-hell," so that production may get underway!

In the meantime, I hope you all enjoyed my fan-casting! Let me know in the comments who you think would play the part better or if you agree with my casting!
Also, be sure to play the heck out of the original trilogy before the fourth and final (*tear tear*) installment of the Uncharted series releases on March 18, 2016, only on PlayStation.
