(Warning - the following article and video contain major SPOILERS for the forthcoming episode of Arrow. Proceed with whatever caution your innate SPOILER-aversion dictates...)
Now, when the most recent episode of Arrow concluded with that reveal about Ray 'The Atom' Palmer - that he's alive out there somewhere, and in trouble, fans of the show could have been forgiven for lacking a little in the way of shock. After all, the already released trailer for the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow - featuring Palmer, as played by Brandon Routh - had rather given the game away as to his survival.
That, though, didn't mean we weren't left wondering just what had happened to Ray - and what the Arrow gang are planning on doing to help him. Until now, that is...
This New 'Arrow' Promo Video Finally Reveals Exactly What Happened to Ray
And as it turns out, it's about as bad as it can get. As the above promo and the synopsis below confirm, Ray has found himself the captive of a very, very dangerous man: Damien Darhk...
"Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is frantic when she learns that Ray (guest star Brandon Routh) is alive and being held by Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough). Felicity’s guilt over not finding Ray sooner causes tension between her and Oliver (Stephen Amell). Meanwhile, Sara (guest star Caity Lotz) joins Laurel (Katie Cassidy), Thea (Willa Holland) and the team on a rescue mission for Ray. However, the effects of the Lazarus Pit take over and threaten to jeopardize the entire operation. Donna Smoak (guest star Charlotte Ross) returns to Star City. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Emilio Ortega Aldrich."
Or, in other words?
Things are Probably Going to Get Worse for Ray Before They Get Better
After all, with the hero apparently trapped in miniaturized form at the hands of the ruthless Darhk, there's likely to have to be one hell of a rescue plan - or the kind of negotiation Oliver and co aren't going to want to think about.
The big question now, then?
