Gunnar Hansen reportedly died of pancreatic cancer on Saturday at his home in Maine.

Best known for his iconic role as Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 1974, the role of his life and the panic of ours.

Just after he graduated school in 1973, he heard that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was crew was near his hometown and he decided to go and try for the part, wich he got, even though he didn't have mutch acting experience.

Based on real-life serial killer Ed Gein, Leatherface was a huge man with the mind of a child, and he did everything his cannibal family asked. Like Ed Gein, he created trophies ofe remains of his victims, and he even wore their skin, there comes the name Leatherface.

Even though this movie is so great Gunnar didn't like the experience and decided to quit acting, and for a few years he just sticked to writing. That's the reason it's not the same actor in the second movie.

In 1988, he returned to the acting business in the movie Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, and since then he continued acting in not so known horror movies.

He did cameo as a member of the murderous Sawyer clan in 2013’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3-D.

My condolonces to the family and may he rest in peace.

Gunnar Hansen (March 4th, 1947- November 7th, 2015)
