Greetings one and all. [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](tag:293035) has hit us and it blew our minds, at least the majority of us. Not only did it meet expectations, but it rocked the box office by making $187 million on its opening weekend, coming right after it's predecessor, The Avengers (2012), in the biggest opening weekend of all time.

With each MCU addition, we are starting to grow more and more eager to see what the new superhero story will show us, what we will take away from it and how it will set up the next film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That next film being the final chapter of the Captain America Trilogy, [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409).

“From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in The Office, Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us,” said Captain America: Civil War Producer Kevin Feige. “We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Many popular characters have been confirmed to return for the threequel, some of those being Black Widow, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Bucky Barnes, The Winter Soldier and various others. But just recently, we were informed that Middle-Earth star Martin Freeman is set to have a role in the film, but it hasn't been specified as of yet, so right now, all we can do is speculate... and that's exactly what I'm doing right now!

So, I've seen a lot of dumb ideas about how he's the new Spiderman or Captain Britain, making me face palm the desk, several times. I wanted to come up with a more logical and believable theory of what his role might be. One of theories is that he is Peggy Carter's love interest after Steve Rogers was frozen beneath the ice, 70 odd years ago!

If you've seen Agent Carter and all its eight episodes of glory, you may have noticed that the character Daniel Sousa seemed to have an interest in Miss Carter as he did infact subtly ask her out on a date a couple of times whilst working for the S.S.R. No, this doesn't mean that they ended up being long time love partners, but in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Peggy specifically states how Steve helped her find the man whom she came to marry.

What I mean by this, is that if it wasn't for Steve and the influence he had on Peggy's life, then I don't believe she would have stayed on at the SSR and therefore could never met Daniel Sousa.

The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron have all built on Steve's loss of Peggy and what he could have had. The Avengers had Steve still coming to terms with the new world, Captain America: The Winter Soldier had Cap visit Peggy for what seems like the first time and Avengers: Age of Ultron had Cap realise that the man that wanted a life, kids and marriage went down in the ocean and that man did not resurface. Steve Rogers seemed to be a changed man who could embrace the ending of the film with a lot more enthuasim than he might have before. It would make sense for this to be explored in Captain America: Civil War, especially with Steve's childhood best friend, Bucky Barnes, making a return in the film, it wouldn't be unorthodox for The Russo Brothers Directors to venture back into Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers' relationship.

But, I would definitely rule out the idea of Rogers being jealous by this and it then leading to a important plot point as Steve does embrace the idea of Peggy's family and the life she had with great positivity, which is a great scene by the way.

Now, in the clip featured above, it showed how Captain America had helped save over 1000 men. Now this could have been a massive mess up in my whole theory, but in fact, Daniel Sousa was a soldier in the Second World War and could quite possibly be one of the thousand men that were saved by Captain Rogers on that day. Without Captain America, Peggy Carter would never have met "the man who would become my (her) husband".

Also, Martin Freeman and Enver Gjokaj do have some facial similarities, I think you could easily say that Martin Freeman is the older Daniel Sousa. I would personally believe it If this were to be true, and Martin Freeman is a great talent and a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so he will definitely steal the stage regardless of how big is role ends up being.

What do you guys think? Do you think this could be likely to happen? Captain America has a set release date of May 6th, 2015.
